The 4-Way Test is a test, that questions or declares that if everything we think, say, or do, is the truth and fair to all concerned, it will build goodwill and friendships, and will it be beneficial to all. As a challenge, my teacher has asked me to tie this theory into Anthem, a book I am reading in class. Anthem is a fiction novella written by Ayn Rand. It is placed in a dystopian society where technology has been eradicated and individualism has been eliminated. The world will be a better place if everybody followed the 4-Way Test because mankind has advanced on the principles of truth, fairness, friendships, and goodwill.

They were almost too fair. But it was more fair, not as in everyone gets an opinion and their say in the matter, but it was more of everyone's equal. Everyone was treated equal so much, they had to believe the same thing and could not be treated any different than one another. That is why their society is worse, while ours further enhances.

Friendships were complicated in the society of Anthem. Everyone were friends because it was against the law to preference anyone as a specific friend in Anthem. Everyone were considered as brothers and sisters. In our society friendships are good and make people happy. Friendships make the world a better place because everyone needs a friend to talk to or hang with, because that makes people happy, and when people are happy that makes the world a better place.

Goodwill wasn't even a thing in Anthem. In Anthem people were indifferent. They were not positive, friendly, or helpful. Although they were not sad, or mad. They did not strive to be the best that they can be, and they didn't strive to help others either. In our society we help others and strive to best that we can
