Do you believe that fantasies in a book can change our world? Usually Dystopian fiction takes place in the future. There are often objects from the future as well. Dystopian fiction books make possibilities for our future. The books give us ideas on how to build a future for ourselves.My first reason is that dystopian fiction tells us what could go wrong if we had utopia. In the book “Uglies” a 16 year old girl named Tally starts to see that her world is not what it seems. She decides she does not want to follow her society's rules. There is a group of people who live in the smoke who do not agree with the society’s rules. They disagreed with the laws because when you turn 16 you have to become pretty but when you become pretty you have to have surgery. But when you get surgery the doctors change the way you think. This summary of the book “Uglies” supports my claim by saying that there are always are gonna be someone who disagrees with the laws you set up and they will want to do something about it. The Uglies is a book about a futuristic look of America. There are a lot of futuristic things like hover boards. But this society isn’t perfect like people think. The narrator in this book is tally Youngblood who will be on a journey to find her best friend. In this society everyone is obsessed with beauty. And the Uglies are the people between the ages of 12 and 16 they live in a remote community far from the beautiful people. In this community the Uglies anxiously wait for their 16th birthday. At the age of 16 they go through a mandatory plastic surgery in order to live up to society’s standards. After they go through plastic surgery they will be known as pretties, and they will also live with all of the other gorgeous people. After changing communities they will party all the time and spend most of their time drinking champagne. But then Tally find out that the government is hiding a scary secret about becoming a pretty and she will risk her life and her friends to save them from becoming pretties.
Tally Youngblood one of the “Uglies” living in Uglyville ( The section of any city where all uglies live) struggles with her confidence and is looking forward to the day where she can be a Pretty alongside with her longtime best friend Periz who recently got his operation done. In this novel Tally struggles with loving who she is and eventually succumbs to the immense pressure coming from the government wanting Tally to become a pretty. In Tally’s world many, pretties lack individuality and distinctiveness.
Dystopia is a society where something is flipped from our normal society, making everything else different and worse than we can imagine. Harrison Bergeron is a good example of a dystopia because it changes one thing that makes that society worse than ours. In the society of Fahrenheit 451, reading books is illegal. This changes how people retain knowledge and see the past that their society was once in. In our society, books are not illegal to read.

For example when you look at yourself in a fun house mirror, you may look extremely tall, rather short, or your face may expand. Well, that's similar to how authors write about dystopians. Conclusively, dystopian texts are written to provide a warning about future times. Authors and directors use a variety of techniques to put their idea forward and have an impact of the audience. Rules that the chosen texts exhibit include that citizens have a fear of the outside world and all citizens adhere to a strict set of rules, but there is a main protagonist who scrutinises the governments or society’s nature. The rules that authors and directors use to put forward their messages of the moral issues human cloning and relying too much on technology and instinctively perusing traditions are evident throughout all three texts.

However, that does not mean they do not their differences. In each society the government has different ways of controlling and limiting its citizens for doing only what they want them to do.
