TYPES OF CUPPING

There are two different methods of cupping used by therapists:

1. Dry Cupping

2. Wet Cupping

3 Needle Cupping

PROCEDURE

The therapist will use a flammable substance inside the cup and once the fire goes out, the cup is put upside down on the affected skin. The flammable substance can be alcohol, herbs, or paper. Some therapists even use rubber pump or silicone cups.

Once the air inside the cup cools down, a vacuum is created. The vacuum makes the blood vessels to expand and hence the skin appears reddened. The whole process may take 3-4 minutes.

Fatigue, headaches, lethargy are some of the symptoms of toxic overload. Sometimes symptoms such as fatigue, lethargy, or headaches could be a symptom of toxic overload that your body is trying to manage. People who are on medications must be careful as the vacuum therapy will release the substances locked in the muscle layer that may sometimes slow down the functioning of the liver.

CUPPING MARKS

Cupping marks or the big mole-like skin aren't bruises. Bruises are caused by the breakage of capillaries and body's reaction to the damaged area by sending the blood and required fluids.
