“The invention of basketball was not an accident. It was developed to meet a need. Those boys simply would not play 'Drop the Handkerchief”'- James Naismith. The history of basketball is very alluring. Basketball was created in December 1891 by James Naismith. He introduced the game when he was in the Young Men’s Christian Association Training School. Naismith got the idea from a game he use to play when he was a kid called “Duck on a Rock”. He thought of nailing up raised boxes which players would try to throw a ball in. Since the ball didn't come out after the players threw it in the buckets, Naismith replaced the buckets with baskets. Now a hundred years later the game Naismith invented, is now called “Basketball”. There are a lot of rules for playing basketball.First, the ball should be thrown in any direction using both or only one hand. Second, a player cannot run with the ball. A player must throw the ball, he cannot run around while holding the ball. The ball must also be held by your hands. A player also, cannot push,hold,trip,or strike an opponent in ANY kind of way. If a player does so, he or she will get disqualified or his shot will not be counted. The game must also have 2 fifteen halves, and …show more content…

The 2nd Team is Spain with a total of 581 point and the 3rd team is Serbia with a total of 743 points. Other countries like Slovenia,Greece,Argentina,Croatia,Brazil,Australia,Puerto Rico. These events happened from August 30 to September 14. I dont like the World Cup of Basketball. Im not into basketball so therefore I find it really boring. I do like playing basketball but I hate watching Basketball games. I would not succeed at this sport if I were to partake in it because i’m not that good of a player. I could shoot some hoops and dribble but im not great at
