Recommended: History of drive-in movie theaters

Working Title Drive in movie theaters were the a pretty popular thing from the 1940s through the 1960s for many friends and families across the United States. They were reportedly created because the creators mom had a hard time fitting in traditional indoor theaters, and so he played a movie with a projector on the hood of his car and a screen. The first official dive-in movie theater was created in New Jersey
Drive-in movie theaters were the star of the 1940s-1960s for groups of friends and families across the United States, but not a lot of people know the history behind them. On June 6th, 1933 the first Drive-in movie theater opened and was located on Crescent Boulevard in Camden, New Jersey (History of Drive-in Movie Theaters). These special theaters, reportedly, were created because the creator's mother struggled “to sit comfortably in traditional movie theater seats,” (History of Drive-in Movie Theaters). This shows that the creator made these theaters so that people can watch movies from the comfort of their own car. However, according to “History of Drive-in Movie Theaters”, the Drive-in theaters didn’t become popular until the 1940s and 1950s, because that’s when “car culture reached its peak. When the 60s came to an end, Drive-in theaters started to lose popularity, because families started buying television sets to watch their movies in their own home (History of Drive-in Movie Theaters). The Drive-in movie theaters were created in 1930s in New Jersey. People loved these theaters because they were affordable and had more to offer than just a movie and a snack stand. Unfortunately, the theaters lost popularity because of the increase in suburb houses and indoor theaters implanted near the new houses.
