Recruitment - Employers should take full advantage of the opportunities to select individuals with specific talents, experiences, and perspectives from diverse age groups.

The information that I will need to collect to plan a response for such a transition would be:

1. How many people are retiring, and assess how this will affect Dofasco?

2. What are the skill shortages due to staff attrition?

3. How will I attract and retain qualified workers of all age?

Once the information of the above is collected, it will help me in creating a selection strategy. The following information will help me determine exactly how many people will need to be hired to take over those who are retiring or will soon be retiring. Knowing information is critical in figuring out the state of Dofasco. It is important to know exactly how many employees Dofasco will need to hire to fill the positions of “team leaders for work teams and project teams, new supervisors, and new managers”.
