Does the paparazzi have enough restrictions? In 2016 Jennifer Aniston wrote in a Huffington post blog about her daily encounters with “dozens of aggressive photographers” who stake out her home (2, Joshua Azriel). Several celebrities, have attempted to put extra limitations on the paparazzi. The paparazzi has pushed the celebrities so far as to cause mental breakdowns. The restrictions on this photographing has yet to stop people from invading space. However, without the paparazzi many Americans would become antsy to know about the Hollywood life. Even though, it wasn’t the cause of her death, it still made her stressed to the max. Unfortunately, she wasn’t the only one. Demi Lovato was fat-shamed by the paparazzi and it caused her to get into depression and eating disorders. But as the public sees it, its fine what the paparazzi do as long as the media gets the hot gossip. The paparazzi is motivated by money. Just one photo of a celeb could be worth six thousand dollars. The more money the job offers the more dirty the photographers are willing to get. On blogs, the more gossip there is the more popularity, it gets, which means more money. So, who cares if families are split or people are over stressed, right? As long as the money keeps rolling in, the more paparazzi there will be. On the other hand, California has passed a law called the safety zone. The safety zone does not solve the harassment struggle that many celebrities complain about, but it does provide a sense of personal space and the ability to conduct one’s life without overt physical interference (5, Azriel).
