Success is defined in many ways, how much money a person has, what they have accomplished in life, or maybe their family. Walt Disney’s success can is shown by his famous innovations he has made to the world. People identify Walt Disney as one of the most successful people because ‘Disney’ was a place to make memories with everyone. When you talk about Walt Disney, people think of success, movies, theme parks, and the memories they had with them. Walt Disney would be recognized as a top movie maker and theme park innovator in these industries to make a place of happiness for everyone. The Secret of Self Control” by Jonah Lehrer relate to success. Tina Fey was a young girl with a dream that one day she would be a comedian on television. Fey’s experience with getting her job led us to many pointers and tells us about how too much creativity can affect tasks getting done on time like ”Producing is about discouraging creativity” (128), how success is made of many factors and advises “When hiring, mix Harvard nerds with Chicago improvisers and stir” (131), and how the people around you can affect your outcome and says “Don’t hire anyone you wouldn’t want to run into in the hallway at three in the morning” (135). Fey’s purpose in this article was to give pointers about her encounters on the way to television success. One of her eight tips was “never cut to a closed door”, which means you can not take any shortcuts and have to do everything to its fullest potential which is why successful people such as Tina Fey reached their accomplishments. Lehrer, a researcher that conducted the “marshmallow experiment”, was used on younger children to see who would be successful later on in their lives. This experiment had to do a lot with patience, self-control, and discipline. It’s a mental process to see if children are high-delayers or low-delayers.
