Walt Disney
Most people know the man Walt Disney because of his many unique and eye-catching creations. Walt Disney started as a regular child, growing up in a rather poor family but that did not stop him from dreaming of success. Disney was born on December 5th, 1901. He grew up near Marceline, Missouri and Kansas City. He put on plays for his school and put together skits for his nearby theater. Walt Disney attended McKinley High School in Chicago during the day and studied at Chicago Institute of Art in the evening. In 1918, at the age of 16, Walt Disney left home to join the Red Cross as an ambulance driver in WWI. Known not only in America, Walt Disney is a world-wide icon for his creation of Mickey Mouse, Disneyland, and Disney World that captures a world of imagination and allows anyone, no matter what age, to return to their childhood.
There were many factors that helped and led Walt Disney to such a great success. Disney was finally ready to begin his career as an artist as well as starting his own business. His father encouraged him to work early in his life, which contributed to his work ethic and his success with Disney Studios. Disney built his company from the bottom up and with limited resources. He had an ambitious vision that he would not give up regardless of the difficulties he faced (Walt Disney). The people that he worked with admired him and his businessperson attitude. Disney intimidated his workers with the amount of passion he had for animation. Because he was so passionate, he expected his employees to be the same way. His irreplaceable and eye-catching cartoon characters are still very popular today. Disney inspires many people, knowing he grew up as just a regular child, and chose to follow his dream gives his young audience hope for their future. Walt Disney is not only known in America but he is a world-wide icon because of his creation of Mickey Mouse, Disneyland, and Disneyworld. His imagination has brought people the ability to go back to their childhood and make many lasting memories with their loved ones.
