Bacteria are everywhere. They are anywhere from in our food, on hard surfaces all the way to oceans and mountains. Bacteria can also be called microorganisms they are very small and can only be seen with a microscope. Bacteria can either be very bad for people or actually help them. Bacteria, also are very complex creatures, they can be in all shapes and sizes. There can be as many as one billion bacteria on just one door knob. Disinfectants are complex chemical compounds that fight against bacteria; bacteria can be fought with home remedies or commercial disinfectant sprays (Wearing 4-9) There are many types of disinfectants on stores shelves. Some different disinfectant compounds are alcohols, phenols, hydrogen peroxide based compounds and anti-septics. These Disinfectant bases help to fight against germs and upcoming viruses. Disinfectant sprays are liquid that kills bacteria. Disinfectant sprays are made of complex chemical compounds with lots of ingredients. Common active ingredients are different types of alcohols, halogens, iodine, acids and hydrogen peroxide. Most chemicals in disinfectant sprays don't even kill bacteria mostly all of the chemicals in a store bought disinfectant spray are there because its used to give the …show more content…

You should disinfect hard surfaces daily or at least every other day. By cleaning hard surfaces with a detergent additive leaves a fresh scent behind after wiping down a had surface. While using commercial disinfectants always follow the label instructions and pay attention to hazard warnings, on the back of the commercial disinfectant always look at poison control and locate the number when consumed. A person should never mix two disinfectant cleaners together unless the back label says so to do.
