The growth of digital imaging during the last few years has affected many fields of human life. Now a days digital imaging is popularly used in many industrial solutions concerning. In the process industry several on-line measurement systems are based on the digital imaging. As a result of this development, the amount of the image data has increased rapidly. Consequently the sizes of different kinds of image databases in the industry have increased significantly. Therefore managing of these databases has become necessary. Image is a pictorial representation of a person, scene or object. An image is a realistic or semi-realistic representation of a variety of subjects produced by a number of methods and in a number of different styles. The Digital image processing allows one to enhance image features of interest while attenuating detail irrelevant to a given application and then extract useful information about the scene from the enhanced image. Digital image processing is the use of computer algorithms to perform image processing on digital images. Digital image processing has the same advantages over analog image processing as digital signal processing has over analog signal processing it allows a much wider range of algorithms to be applied to the input data and can avoid problems such as the build-up of noise and signal distortion during processing. Image Processing and Computer Vision are concerned with developing algorithms for analyzing the contents of an It is also concerned with image data compression and improves the quality of an image by filtering and removing or degradation of noise present in the image viz. image enhancement and image restoration. On the other hand, image analysis deals with tasks like extraction of lines, curves and regions in the image. It also includes classifications and segmentation of objects in the image using boundary information, texture analysis, analysis of sequence of images with an interest of estimating the motion of objects and scene analysis. In image processing the inputs and the outputs are images, while image analysis involves analyses of features of images and the outputs are list of objects presenting the image or a set feature such as edges and
