There are many types of clocks such as analog, digital, braille, longcase, and mantel. Analog clocks use a clock face with numbers and hands to tell the time. The hands move around the clock face which are the hours and minutes. There’s not really much to Analog Clocks other than having the hours marked from 12 to 1. A longcase clock, also tall-case clock, floor clock, or grandfather clock, is a tall , freestanding, weight-driven pendulum clock with the pendulum held inside the tower or waist of the case. The key parts of a clock are a, dial and hands that indicate the time. Winding the clock raises the weight back up, storing more potential energy to power the mechanism. A set of power gears that take energy from the falling weight and use it to drive the clock mechanism at the correct speed. The pendulum's length is set so that it swings from one side to the other in 1 second and each time it gets to the opposite side it lets the gear tooth turn once. The energy to swing a pendulum in a mechanical clock can be any form, though commonly mechanical clocks will use a spring or a weight. One form of early pendulum clock was wall-mounted but, because of its heavy
