During 1700, the east coast of North America had developed into two distinct societies - New England and Chesapeake. Although these two regions were settled by the Englishmen with the same ethnicity, but they had divided due to the different backgrounds, passions and beliefs of the settlers. If I was one of the settler back then, I would rather settle in New England than Chesapeake, and here the main reasons: Firstly, the life in the new England area seemed to be very happy and heathy.
