Love is the strongest emotion a person can have for another person, yet people confuse love for infatuation, which causes confusion between peoples’ motive. Love and infatuation are both intense emotions for the other person. However, infatuation is defined as a foolish, temporary, and short-lived passion that never truly becomes love. On the other hand, love is defined as an intense feeling of deep affection (“Infatuation vs Love,” 2017). Many people believe infatuation is love, but, love is more than temporary, it is for a lifetime. While infatuation and love are both intense emotions, infatuation is a more temporary type of emotion. A person knows when they are in love when, they feel secure, at peace, and can give a great partnership to raise children with confidence. Love requires selflessness, assertiveness, truthfulness, and a partnership. Love does not have an age limit, but a person does need to be mature to know when it is love and not infatuation. Love is a long-term commitment between two people, which induces a feeling of a close bond with that person and is mutual.
