This generation has welcomed several HD remasters, and will continue to do so for years to come. Though some remastered titles are just a year or two old, there are others that are nearly a decade old and now have the opportunity to cater to a new audience. Capcom’s Devil May Cry 4 is among the latter, having been released more than seven years ago. Why should you care about Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition? Simply put: it takes a damn good game and makes it even better. With new content and smoother game performance, this is the way DMC4 should be played.

Vergil is fast, powerful, and can perform some stylish combos. Playing as Vergil will make you feel like a badass as you nonchalantly decimate demonic foes with ease and elegance.

On a personal level, our favorite character to play as was Lady. This gun-toting lass has some insane firepower at her disposal. If you power-up Lady’s main weapon – the Kalina Ann, a rocket-based weapon – you will be able to inflict a high amount of damage to bosses and easily defeat standard enemies with a single shot. Unlike Lady, Trish is a combo-driven character and can perform some ostentatious maneuvers. All three have a slight learning curve but are a joy to play as once you understand their strengths and weaknesses.
Other worthwhile additions included in Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition is Turbo Mode, which speeds up the pace of the game and the speed in which you and enemies move at. There is also a new difficulty level aptly named Legendary Dark Knight mode, which is unlocked from the start. Legendary Dark Knight will humble most, so don’t rush into it.
