The book, Devil in the White City, reveals “the ineluctable conflict between good and evil”. There was a man who wanted people to have fun and enjoy themselves, and another man who took people's lives in unimaginable ways. Burnham, who was an architect, wanted to build the fair to see excitement in people's eyes. Holmes, who was a murderer, found excitement by taking young women's lives and making dirty money the wrong way.
