San Francisco is a beautiful city, in which more than half of the people living here, come from different countries, states, cities, contents, etc. I have lived in San Francisco for all of my life and I often come into contact with many people from out of state. I also get called a unicorn whenever riding lyft, because there aren 't a lot of locals that take lyft or uber. I get asked so often, how I feel about the changes in the city or how it was growing up in San Francisco, that I thought it would be interesting, to see how people not from San Francisco, felt about it. I set out to interview my lyft drivers and riders, because I take lyft twice a day and usually the driver or other paired passenger, are from somewhere elsewhere

Everyone hates how the city is neither cold or warm, but everyone loves the opportunities that San Francisco has to offer. San Francisco is the home of technology, music and art, and there is a way in for anyone. Another great feature about the city is how open it is, too all the different cultures. My parents themselves would never go back to their homelands, because San Francisco is better than Belarus or Ukraine. People are free to think and act, and are not controlled by the government. As someone, who was born in the city, I am thankful for all the people not originally from our small city. I have the chance to meet people from all over the world, some from different countries, states, and even those just a few cities away. With San Francisco being the home of technology, music and art, it allows different genres of people to mingle. There are always different areas and beliefs in big cities, but in some cities they are taken to a whole new level. Everyone is proud of where they are from naturally, whether it’s in regards to their sports team, schools, or maybe a famous product that originated from there. There is a very well known divide in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, where there seems to be a highway or street creating an invisible line. Cincinnati is well known for its education, food, and the diverse lifestyles one may be able experience in the rather large suburban area. If someone asks a Cincinnatian where they’re from, they will proudly respond with either the Westside or Eastside! Common phrases one may hear are, “Westside best-side or Eastside money-side.” It’s not necessarily true that someone is considered good or bad due to their response; it’s just a pride factor to them.
During the early 1500s- mid 1800s, missions were the original destination by which the Spanish taught both Spanish and Catholicism lifestyle to the Native Americans/Indians. There are 21 missions scattered all over California. Mission San Jose is the fourteenth mission created in Alta California. It is a Spanish mission located in Fremont, California and established in the late 1700s by Padre Fermin Francisco de Lasuen. The mission is the label of the Mission San Jose district of Fremont, which was a free town admitted into the city when it was assimilated in 1957. This paper will discuss the many unique aspects of Oakland, California. Divided into five major parts, Oakland is a very diverse city. The five major parts include: Downtown Oakland which is located in the heart of the city, East Oakland which consists of the majority of the city, West Oakland, North Oakland, and the Oakland hills where the terrain is quite different from other parts of the city. While many may perceive the population to mainly consist of African Americans and Whites, there is a significant growing population of Latinos, and Asians. The topics covered in this paper will shed light on the city of Oakland itself, and discuss the unique city that it is. I will also give my personal experience and perception on the city, after living there for 16 years of my life.
As a young child, I would visit my grandparents in Marin County often. My parents would pack my sister and me up in the car, and we would head north from San Francisco to the small town of Novato. The road to Novato took us through San Rafael, where I would always marvel at the one mile stretch of shopping mall that Highway 101 traversed. However, once we were into the hills of wine country and the shopping mall was a distant memory, so too became San Rafael. It wasn’t until I met Paul, my partner, that I learned the full story behind this fascinating town.
The dramatically successful revitalization project plus the town's location in the San Francisco Bay Area -- and the existence of the Amtrak station right here in Suisun City -- makes this a surprisingly sophisticated, forward-looking place to live. It does not have the usual small town vibe. San Francisco is one of the most modern and accepting culture there is in the world. San Francisco has largely become what it is due to the past historical events that shaped this culture to the way it is, as well as the kind of people these events brought into this city. In a way, the series of events that unfolded seemed to work almost too perfectly, and turned San Francisco into the city it is today.
People always wonder why the City of Angels is different from other cities. This paper will answer this question and explain the uniqueness that makes L.A., “L.A.” Los Angeles, since its birth as an embryonic city, has become one of the most diverse metropolises, offering to the public what no other city can. This paper will emphasize the relationship between the federal government and the western United States. It will also illustrate how capitalism has flourished because of the prevalent 19th century Laissez Faire ideology. It will describe how the free market prevailed and expanded Los Angeles outward, while cultivating new public institutions and private enterprises.
Ever since Sunset Beach has been officially opened to the public, there has been a drastic increase of tourists present. Television programs concluded that at least a thousand people visit the beach everyday. Reasons for their stay are that they feel comfortable with the environment that surrounds the beach front, people who are at the beach are joyous and numerous activities to enjoy, and the fresh scent of the sparkly waters, make the visitors feel calm and pleasurable. So I decided to take a trip there.
Naples is a very unique city that attracts people from all over the world to its beautiful surroundings. Amongst the pristine beaches and championship golf courses, a teenager can find many entertaining locations. One such area can be found in downtown Naples on Fifth Avenue. Along this stretch of road near the beach lies a vast array of shops, cafes, restaurants, and other establishments. I often find myself spending many nights on Fifth Avenue, walking along the tree-lined streets or sitting in one of the numerous cafés or restaurants.
The waves roll onto white sand beaches and vanishes into non-existence, and another is born and tumbles towards the shore. The setting sun dyes the western sky bright red. People are laughing, talking, and embracing under sunset. I can feel that the warm sand is squished through my toes. The weather is nice. There is not a speck of cloud to be seen in the sky. The sky seems a watercolor painting, mixing red, blue, purple, and etc. I sometimes perceive the foamy mist from ocean sprays my face very lightly as if it is the touch of a soft feather. Through various sounds, I can hear the cry of seagulls circling overhead, and gives the part of Santa Monica beach fascinating character of its own. As time passes, I senses the fresh and gentle breeze. When I close my eyes, then I have the feeling of I sitting alone on the broad sandy beach for a moment. I open my eyes again. The colors swirl together in muddled mass over the sky. The sky turns into blue violet, and the scenery around me is added colorful artificial light. lIt is the most beautiful sight I think and my favorite time. The children frolicking on the
Where I live is one of the greatest neighborhoods in the city to live in; however, it does have its drawbacks. Importantly, it has nearly everything a resident might want, beautiful picturesque scenery, proximity to shopping, and many of the cultural centers. Nevertheless, the roads can be some of the most congested in town, and the streets are not safe to walk late at night. Fortunately, I wake every morning to the most beautiful sun-lit house. I sit on my porch sipping coffee, while I drink in an atmosphere that steals my breath away.
The city was blinding me with shining lights that you could see from space. It was glistening in the night and dull by day. There were cars parked all alongside the streets and traffic jams every corner.
I think we all have a beautiful place in our mind. I have a wonderful place that made me happy a lot of times, years ago. But sometimes I think that I am the only person who likes this place and I'm asking myself if this place will be as beautiful as I thought when I will go back to visit it again. Perhaps I made it beautiful in my mind.
