London

The city of London is located in the southern part of England. It is the capitol and biggest city in the country. Parliament is the government structure of the country and the queen lives in Buckingham Palace in the city. So many people visit a year that they have five international airports and a most flights make a stop in London whether it is the final destination or just a stop on the way.
So many people pass through the city then most tend to stay. Much like the U.S. England is a melting pot of cultures and different types of people. About 230 different languages are heard on the streets of London and a variety of restaurants with menus from all over the world. Such diversity is seen in big cities but London is different. Even though there are many other cultures involved in the society, old tradition is still a major part of the city.
The British flag will be seen at every inch of the city and pub at the corner of every street. The atmosphere of the cities is unique and one can never get bored. All around you is food, stores, people, and excitement. London is very much like New York City or Boston just with a European twist.

London Food

When it comes to food, you can find just about anything you want to eat in London. The population is so diverse, with a strong middle east and Asian influence, that the food choices are endless.

If you are looking for real English food and want to get a taste of traditional London, you would head to an English pub. Pubs in London are not like those in the USA. You go to the pub to eat as well as drink and the food is excellent. Cricket is the most popular sports after football. Cricket is a slower paced game that is often played in test matches over multiple days. London has two test grounds for cricket and is enjoyed in the summer months.

Rugby is the next favorite sport. A more aggressive contact sport, rugby is considered the most physically demanding sport to be played. It is a tough game but is well supported and enjoyed in London. London hosts rugby test matches frequently and draws fans from all over the world.
Rowing, tennis, cycling and running are all sports that Londoners enjoy. Horseracing and horse riding are strong English traditions but because of the limitations of the city, these are enjoyed in the countryside.
