The Internet (Net) is a network of networks, connecting millions of computers together worldwide. It provides new ways of accessing, interacting, and connecting with people and content. It delivers packets of information similar to a postcard with a simple address on it, anywhere in the world. If you put the right address on a packet, and give it to any computer which is connected as part of the Net, each computer would figure out which cable to send it down next so that it would get to its destination.

Web 1.0 pages were static pages and there was little chance of interactive or participation between the consumer and the producer of the information.

Web 2.0 encourages user participation, provides rich user experiences and ability to contribute. With the introduction of social networking, blogging, wikis, and content sharing have made Web 2.0 the place to collaborate, communicate and share with other people all around the world, and are user driven. It consists of dynamic pages, allowing users to read and write information with low barriers of entry.

RSS (Rich Site Summary) or often called as Really Simple Syndication, allows website information to be automatically updated without having to view the actual webpage from where the information is originating from.

RSS feeds are significant to Web 2.0, as they allow readers to receive timely updates from their preferred websites. These updates can be web based or Mobile based, depending on the users preferred delivery
