She struggles from several mental illnesses and they affect her life and career every single day. Demi struggles from Depression, Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Bipolar disorder. These mental illnesses have affected her life in many ways, but she continues to work through it and benefit from it.
Demi lovato was born on August 20th, 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico (A&E, 2017). She was very passionate about the arts at a immensely young age and started acting when she was a child. Her first acting career was on the television series Barney with friends, which she costarred with her friend, Selena Gomez, who is also remarkably famous as well (A&E, 2017) . As Demi Lovato got older she got the lead role in Disney's Movie Camp Rock, this role was more than just acting, it was also singing and dancing (A&E, 2017) . The only kind of friend she had was Jasper, her boyfriend, and he was the same if not worse than she was. It is not good for addicts to be around people who are worse than them, don’t want to get better, and don’t think the have a problem. No one at rehab wanted to be around her she was rude and was lashing out against people. Her intelligence went out the window, literally. We see that when she jumps out of the window to get her pills and when she drives and crashes the limo, which got her into rehab in the first place. Her emotional state was bad, she was having hallucinations and was having mood swings. Gwen's physical state was just as bad, she was shaky and having bad withdrawals.

All ages, races, and ethnic groups can experience depression. Most people who do experience it need treatment to get better. Many famous women have also battled with depression. Demi Lovato had an eating disorder at the age of eight and started cutting at the age of eleven.
