Just awaiting for the right time to come forth, bursting out of their cages , and for darkness to flood through the caverns of our heart. Sometimes man are such gullible beings. Being able to start a fire and walk on two feet more readily than any other animal made us the top apex predator of our food chain. Knowledge and wisdom made us smarter, and man could even visit the celestial bodies known as planets in outer space. Many awe- inspiring deeds and wonderful inventions have been made , but how was it that man managed to doll all of this with merely a few mathematical symbols which are something that we created and are not a part of nature at all? On top of the failure of the government, we also see the failure to act correctly in humans as well. For example, in World War Z, there were illegal organ trafficking actions being taken in China. These actions were carried out by Fernando Oliveira, a heart surgeon in China. Although his actions were selfish and unjust, one could trace the problem back to the government for not warning the public about the beginning of a plague. Dr. Oliveira saw no true harm in the human trafficking business as it was such a profit.

William Golding depicts the idea, “evil is an inborn trait of man” (Golding). Throughout the novel the children who have crash landed on the island begin to uncover their savage nature. In “Tartuffe”, the main character Tartuffe is seen as a religious hypocrite who takes advantage of Orgon’s wealth and agrees to marry his daughter, Mariane against her wishes. In “The Importance of Being Earnest”, Jack and Algernon both lie about their identity to get the woman of their dreams. The authors use the concept of double personalities in the play to reveal the deceit and lies to represent the theme of hypocrisy. In fact, hypocrisy is not only displayed in the characters but in the play as a whole. Additionally, the plays are both hypocrital in ways that they do not follow the structure of comedy.
