The Pride Essay Pride is a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements. Pride is something that is made shameful and looked down upon. People with too much pride most of the time are found full of themselves or conceded. Therefore, pride can be looked at in many ways, as good or as bad. I feel as though it is okay to take pride in things such as family, grades and how you present yourself. Pride is something everyone has but is shown more in some people than others. How come people see pride as always being bad but it happens so often and everyone takes pride in at least on things whether it be good or bad? For example, “It’s a self-conscious emotion, reflecting how you feel about yourself, and it has this important social component” says Dr. Tracey in the article “When all you have left is pride.” I feel that people resort to pride as a last option and pride is something that can make people feel confident but also something that can come off rude and full of yourself, even if you do not mean it to. It can be a statistacation or a feeling some people are satisfied if they are prideful about everything. Being prideful shows you care about you and your life, and without pride you don’t care about anything. If you don't take pride in things you're not trying hard and nothing is good enough to take pride in. However, people don't understand that you can take pride in things but people get over prideful about wealth and everything he or she has.
