Adolf Hitler once said, “Through clever and constant application of propaganda, people can be made to see paradise as hell, and also the other way round, to consider the most wretched sort of life as paradise.” This deceiving quote is an example of the demagogue, Adolf Hitler using speech to manipulate his audience. Demagoguery is a term that is not familiar to many individuals. However, this term is used to describe the actions and techniques used by leaders or politicians to have an effect on their audience. Today, this term demagoguery is especially because of the ongoing presidential elections. This term is extremely crucial in America today because many of the current presidential candidates have been accused of being demagogues or using some demagoguery characteristics in their speeches. In addition to hosting a reality TV show one of Donald Trump’s main successes was the founding of Trump Entertainment Resorts, a hotel and gaming enterprise. With a weak background in politics, it was shocking to millions when entrepreneur Donald Trump, announced his presidential candidacy for the 2016 election. Trump’s forward, harsh, and critical characteristics set him aside from any other candidate in American history.
