Colonization was like the game battleship during the 15th century, because the objective of it was to conquer the most land as possible to gain control. It had negative and positive affects on countries but the negative is what people judge it off of, but that should not be the case. Africa and the Europeans is a prime example, in which the Europeans gained control over Africa’s nations. Things changed when they arrived. Looking back on it, the U.S has a decision on whether to colonize South America. The first thoughts on it are, look what they did negatively but look what they did positively. The U.S should consider colonizing South America because it could benefit for both groups. The U.S can influence the wealth of the country, provide better education, healthcare and introduce new and improved technology all in positive ways.

One positive factor to colonization would be the introduction and enhancement of better education and healthcare. With the U.S being a developed country, they can provide South America with thing that will benefit the people there. The U.S can implement their trade value to help in South America’s trade value as well. In Doc 1, it says “African products came to be valued on the international market,” (Scramble for Africa, Page. 784). Also, with the U.S having advanced technology, using their transportation to help make trading more efficient and easier, increasing South America’s GDP, such as the Europeans did for the African nations. With the additions of increased market value, while providing improved transportation methods for trading will be beneficial to South America’s economy.
