In this paper I will discuss the similarities between what happened in the September 11th attack in 2002 and the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. I will describe the Presidential responses to these attacks, as well as investigate the roles that class, culture, religion, and notions of superiority played in these attacks on the United States. Both of these events were undeniably tragic because of how many lives were cost and how surprising it was to everyone at that time. But there are many more detailed similarities between the two.

it seems as though the attack on the world trade center lasted longer because after the planes hit, that wasn’t the end of it. All those people were trapped inside awaiting their death. The attack wasn’t really over until both buildings fell to the ground. In both attacks they came in phases. For example, in the Pearl Harbor attack the first phase lasted about 30 minutes but, in the first attack on September 11th it lasted only a few seconds when the plane hit the building. Now, it would be so much harder, if not impossible, to hijack a plane and crash it wherever we wanted to. With such strict regulations at the airport nothing can go in if it’s suspicious. With the Pearl Harbor incident, I think now we can be so much more prepared for another surprise attack. When this happens again well have the technology and resources to immediately fight back for our safety and wellbeing. We can’t change the fact that these events did occur but we can learn from the experience and strengthen ourselves for future problems like
