The book “Day of Infamy” is overall a decent book to read rather it’s for pleasure or for a reading assignment. But this is a very informative book to read. This book would be interesting to someone who is interested in history in the United States. The book has pictures of the bombing that took place in Hawaii during that time. The author makes this book very descriptive. It’s like the reader is reading a documentary or journal log from different point of views. Although the book is interesting, some parts of the book have some terms that had different meanings to then when the book was written. For example in the first chapter the term “gay” is being used. Then I would recommend this book to someone. The book goes into great details about the events. If you like very descriptive books, then you would like this book. But the wording in some chapters is easy for a reader to understand. This will help them get a better idea on what is going on if he or she is lost about what is going on in a chapter. This book is very descriptive to the point where a reader can picture themselves living during the time the bombing of Pearl Harbor happened from the type of planes to how many bombs were being dropped from the Japanese. And even phone call conversations. It’s like you are watching movie while reading this book. Not only will you get outlooks from people on base but throughout the book you will get outlooks from people that were in Hawaii at the time of the bombing. It’s actually unique in my opinion. The pictures give you visual of the actual Pearl Harbor site, and other great pictures throughout the chapters. Overall the book “Day of Infamy” is decent book to read. The author goes into very descriptive detail about the Pearl Harbor events. A reader may think this book written like journal logs or a documentary movie.
