This was what the great David Beckham lived his life by: the idea that you must keep improving yourself even after you’ve proved yourself. In Beckham: Both Feet on the Ground by David Beckham (with Tom Watt), Beckham tells his life story from his time as a young boy, all the way to his time at Real Madrid Club of Football, where he was playing when writing the book. This proves to be a phenomenal book that perfectly portrays the glories and fallouts of being a professional soccer player. I would recommend this to anyone with the slightest affection for soccer, or even just sports fans in general, for its extreme description and details throughout the adventure of his life. …show more content…

When he explains, “Suddenly there was a silence all round the ground. I get a little shiver when I remember it … Germany 0 Finland 0” (Beckham 232). It encourages the reader to receive the same expression that he was whilst living the moment. The feeling is real. Likewise, Beckham calls for deep feeling detail as well when acknowledging, “I could taste the anger and the disappointment in the back of my throat” (Beckham 334). It makes the reader know and understand more what it was like to be there in the moment, and even be him for the moment.
