In Shadow House:The Gathering, by Dan Poblocki, he writes this book in 3rd person omniscient. He includes horrific pictures and events that happen in the book, so this book’s genre is horror and mystery. He makes the book nerve racking, engaging, and a terrifying adventure. This book includes 215 pages of non-stop thrills. The characters in this book are Poppy, Dylan, Dash, Marcus, and Azumi. They’re all about 13 years old. These kids were all brought to the Shadow House for a reason. They face ghosts that taunt them.They’re all trapped and they need to work together to stop the spirits attacking them. Everybody comes together to fight off their fears lurking house. “We have to fight them! NOW!” (Poblocki 173). Poppy told everybody to help
Sasha Dawn’s Oblivion is about Calliope Knowles a 16 year old girl who has a compulsion to write which is also known as graphomania. Calliope’s compulsion to write was brought on by the disappearance of her father the reverend of the Holy Promise church, and a young girl from the church Hannah Ryne’s, as it gets closer to the anniversary of the disappearance Calliope starts to write and remember more of the night. This book is enjoyable because it doesn’t just focus on Calliope’s urges to write it also looks into her past before the night she was found in an abandoned apartment writing “I killed him” on the walls, the book also goes into detail about her foster family and her relationship with her friends.
House of Horrors goes into gruesome details by the survivor of a rape and almost a twelfth murder by Anthony Sowell. She gives the details of how the night went about before she was attacked by the serial killer. Also, this book has notes from the author written to Anthony Sowell as also there are letters written back to the author from Anthony Sowell while he is serving the death penalty in the Ohio State Penitentiary in Youngstown, Ohio
In Allende’s The House of the Spirits, Esteban Trueba is the principal male character. During the course of the novel, Trueba increases his power in the world as he progresses in status from a conservative landowner to a powerful senator. He is tyrannical, treating his family members and the tenants on his family hacienda, Tres Marías, like subjects rather than intimate community. The basis for most of Trueba's actions is the desire for power, control, and wealth, and he pursues these things at any cost, disregarding his emotional decline and the effects of his actions upon the people in his life.
The House of the spirits is a book that contains a lot of supernatural events. Throughout this book it is easily seen that there is a political battle going on. There are many elements that are seen that include religion, marriage and family. The history of the author and the historical events that were occurring at the time had a huge impact on the book and how it was written. Many cultural influences also affected the book.
The title of my book is “A Fear Street Novel- Don’t Stay Up Late”. My book is a Fiction, Horror, Suspense, Thriller, and Young Adult. In this book, there are many main characters and their names are; Lisa Brooks, Harry, Brenda (Harry’s mom), Alice (Harry’s aunt) Dr. Shein, and Lisa’s mom and friends. The main character Lisa is a very intelligent, curious, and imagines a lot of things. Next, the character Harry an eight-year-old who is very affectionate and adorable, and is the character that causes the mysteriousness, and the begins the climax. Brenda is Harry’s mom and is very nice but a bit weird, and Alice is Harry’s aunt who is very sweet and charming. The rest of the characters are very supportive and understanding of what Lisa is going

The story The House Of The Scorpion By: Nancy Farmer was boring but interesting book I think if you are going to read this book don’t expect a surprising, exciting, intense book. I don’t think this is a book for everyone.
The use of imagery or personification increases the suspense in the story, ‘Shadows cower’ is a very descriptive way of showing how frightening the mansion is. It sounds as if the shadows which are linked to darkness themselves are afraid of a greater evil. We wonder what this great evil could be that makes evil itself tremble. Another personification used is ‘candles writhing’. Candles are usually associated to gothic stories, as it is only small source of light within a vast darkness of the room.

The book “The Dark Is Rising” has been challenged to be banned from the American Canyon Middle School. The Dark Is Rising has won Five series contemporary fantasy novels for older children and young adults. The Dark is Rising is a good fantasy book for people to read because it has a lot of good action from the characters. The character “Will” needs to go on six magical signs. The Dark Is Rising is a great book to read. People should read the book if they like action and fantasy.
In her famous The House of the Spirits, Isabel Allende documents the life of several characters during the Chilean reality in the 1930s. Her notorious feminist ideology is, at times, extremely obvious. Elements such as the clash of social classes and the social, political and economical conditions of Chile during this period of high turmoil are also well portrayed. Isabel Allende achieves to give us a good image of what life in Chile was like during those years. Some particular characters specially exemplify all of these elements very clearly.
Reading fantasy chapter books provides children with the opportunity for escape from their regular day-to-day lives. It inspires children to think more creatively and it can broaden their knowledge about other fantastical worlds. The specific reason why I chose The Last Gargoyle was because the main character is actually a monster, which spends most of his time alone, protecting residents of a Boston apartment building in secret. While growing up, some children get the feeling that they do not belong in their community, class, or even friend group. This book provides sixth grade children with the opportunity to connect with a humorous yet lonely character that is unlike many protagonists. The titles provided in the aforementioned book list encompass the same fantasy and supernatural genre, with most of them containing main characters that are either creatures or individuals with special gifts. John Grisham’s book, ‘A Painted House’ places the reader within the walls of a simple home on the cotton fields of rural Arkansas. Within the first few pages, the author’s description of the setting quickly paints a picture of a hard working family and creates a shared concern with the reader about the family’s struggle to meet the basic needs of life. The description of the dusty roads, the unpainted board-sided house, the daily chore requirements and their lack of excess cause the reader a reaction of empathy for the family. Although the story takes place in a dusty setting very unfamiliar to most readers, the storyline is timeless and universal. Most everyone has a desire to meet the basic needs of life, embrace their family ties, and make others and ourselves proud. The crux of this book is that it does an excellent job in showing the reader through other’s examples and hardships to persevere and never give up.
Anyone that has watched The Vampire Diaries and Twilight have noticed similarities and differences with the main women protagonists, love, supernatural powers, and craving of blood. In the Vampire Diaries people are introduced to Elena Gilbert a young outgoing teenaged girl. She has lived in Mystic Falls her entire life, unfortunately her parents are deceased. They passed away in a car accident while their vehicle sank in a nearby river. Elena had a normal life until it was interrupted by meeting Stefan Salvator a 165 year old vampire. Unlike the Vampire Diaries, Twilight has Bella Swan. She seems like an awkward shy teenager. Bella moved to Forks, Washington to have a better father-daughter relationship with her dad. Both Bella’s parents are divorce and share custody; which is why Bella had to move to Forks. Just like Elena met Stefan, Bella meets Edward Cullen the handsome intriguing 107 year old vampire.
