Dally you should not even think about killing yourself it will not solve anything and will only make thing worse for everybody who cares about you. I know that you will not believe this and think that the world is horrible and is not worth living in but I promise you that there is still good in the world. I know that you will say that there is not and that I am naive, but I was not the only one to see this even Johnny saw it as he was dieing. You of all people have the right to be mad at the world but if you do kill yourself then you will be proving everybody right that ever said you would die that way. Dally I know you and you are not a quitter you have not quit since you got thrown in jail at the age of twelve. You just always took the hits and kept moving forwards without stop. Most of all now you can not stop this may have knocked you down but you better get up. Dally you are going to say to me that why should you keep taking hit why should I chose to keep going for no reason just to get hit. But I will tell you that the reason for taking the hits is so that you can see what happens at the end see Ponyboy see the gang. Even if you die it will not take away the pain of Johnny's death nothing will. If you're telling yourself that you will see him when you die you will maybe never see him if you so you will just disappoint him with your decision. That will only make your pain worse or hit you so hard your lights go out. So Dally think of what you're doing don’t be stubborn like you usually are. You need to take a least thirty minutes so you one can calm down and two so you can think of the things that you will lose if you do kill yourself. The death of Johnny is a noble death. He dies from saving children and also Ponyboy. His death means something. Near the end of the story, he is still looking out for Ponyboy, telling him to “‘stay gold’”(148) and writing him the letter. Ponyboy says “Johnny was right. He died gallantly” (154). He dies still thinking of other people, he dies a hero. Conversely, Dally dies selfishly and only looking out for himself. He dies under the street lamp, happy with how things turn out, while Johnny dies in a bed, scared and wishing he had done more. Ponyboy says ¨Dally didn't die a hero. He died violent and young and desperate¨ (154). He does not die peacefully like Johnny, he dies a harsh death, just because he breaks for not being a hero like Johnny. To save Ponyboy from the Socs, he kill the Socs Bob though he is really scared and terrified by them. He can take the consequence of killing a man because he needs to save his friend. Another example is that when the church is on fire Johnny not only saves school children but saves Ponyboy by pushing Ponyboy out of the church leaving himself in great danger of being crushed by the building’s falling timbers. He can die for his friend. So it is really sad that such a heroic character died after the church fire incident.

Instead of turning to death as an option, patients should realize that there are other ways to stop pain caused by illness or depression. For example, palliative care is available in today’s society. Palliative care is a medical specialty based solely on pain and is very advanced in today’s technology. If the patients that requested euthanasia were to undergo this treatment, they would not feel pain, or as much as they normally would, and the pain would be more tolerable (O’Steen). Also, in most situations, the longing for death or suicidal death, which was revealed to be clinical depression, can be treated by medicine and sympathetic counseling (Bonin).
Pain is universal. In life, everyone will feel pain; it is inevitable and cruel. Physical or emotional, insignificant or severe, it is there. The pain continues mounting into an unbearable amount of suffering. Suffering that blots out everything of worth, such as family, love, aspirations, and optimism. Hopelessness seizes any will to endure. With no way to subside or control the pain, often one will go to extremes in order to be free of it. Many take their life, in order to escape the horror. Committing suicide is a traumatizing experience for any and all involved. Life is precious. The chance to live is only given once, and cannot be taken for granted. Preventing even a single life from ending early is imperative and obligatory to everyone. Suicide can never be an option. Why then is it acceptable as an alternative treatment for dire medical conditions? Physician-Assisted Suicides have a negative impact on those involved and is unethical.

The thought of life coming to an end is a scary thought for anyone, but for someone who is depressed and suicidal it may seem to them as a release of some kind. In reality is suicide going to solve these patient’s problems? The patient may think so, but it will not solve any issues or problems. Suicide is a pertinent solution that no one can return from. My experience with depressed and suicidal people or patients is small. This is why I chose to write about patients who are depressed and suicidal. Even though my experience is small. I want to learn what can be done for these patients, and how I can be a better advocate for them.
I am writing this letter to tell you that I am no longer a burden to the people of the world. I have found the perfect compromise that would suit us all. Eight years ago, I killed my father after hearing the voices of my dead mother, who died when I was only ten. These voices would constantly keep telling me to punish my father, hurt him, just like he hurt her. I remember the feeling of being conflicted about whether or not I should listen, in the beginning. I mean he was my father, the only family I had left. l used to argue with myself everyday. My father was an alcoholic and abusive but no one believed me. He would beat me every day. Yet no one cared. Instead of listening to me, they called me insane and so here I am, desperate for my freedom. For so long I have had to endure living in the Penetanguishene Mental Health Centre and I have had enough.
As I sit for those six hours and create a list in my head in my head about all the reasons I should just give up, I never truly wanted to. I just enjoyed pondering the thought. I believe I’m already this far, why go back. Why should I care about other people’s opinion? They’re focused on their kid anyways.

The big question is, what makes a person thinks that ending his or her life can help oneself to escape from the reality when life has so much more to offer?
