Partying is all fun, until the incoming call from mom and dad yelling through the phone "It's past curfew, come home right now". Imagine that the latest it was to stay out was 10 pm. How is that enough time for fun or catching up with friends? Some may say that giving teenagers a curfew keeps them out of trouble because it can prevent accidents late at night when driving, they learn responsibility of what's it like to follow the rules given to them and build trust within their parents. Accidents happen everyday from drunk driving or cars loosing control. Having a curfew can prevent reckless driving late hours at night, when having one or two people in the car. Coming home at a certain time will take the danger out of allowing teenagers to roam around towns past curfew. Most adults between the age of 18 and 25 usually stay out later driving then most teens, who are under the age limit, which is expected for them to follow up on being home on time. Social events can go on for long hours but making sure a teen is home on time is very important to prevent safely. Everyone needs to follow rules given to them or if they don't their will be consequences for that. Teenagers always tend to slip up and make mistakes, they didn't mean to do. Curfews help teach them, that breaking the rules or laws will be recommend to some lead in punishment. If a party is going on this weekend and a parent is allowing her daughter to go out and take her car, as a parent she needs to check in on her daughter to make sure she knows what time the party starts, who's she's going with and what time she'll be home. Ben Hogan, a famous golfer, once said, “ the only thing a golfer needs is more daylight”. Daylight saving time not only impacts the world’s golf games, it also affects the economy, outdoor activities and comes with many health concerns.Daylight saving time(also know as DST) was used as a way to save energy and have more natural light in the summertime, but it was as affected and it also came with many consequences to the countries and states that still use this time. It was first used in the USA in 1918 and has been on and off for many years , but now DST is used seven months out of the year. There are two times during the year we change the clocks. The first Sunday in March, we “spring forward” with the clocks and the second Sunday in November we “fall back” one hour. However, daylight-saving time should be abolished from the rest of the world that uses this time throughout the year.
Today, teen curfews are commonplace and supported by voters. Bainbridge observes that according to Jet Magazine’s survey taken in 2011, 75% of the voters were in support of curfew laws (13). Parents arrange for young children to go to bed at an earlier time than teenagers (Psychologytoday.com). Teens receive the privilege to stay up later but this can mean that they will be out on the streets later at night. McKinny indicates that curfews are in place to protect the youth from crimes that may harm them or take the children’s lives (Time.com).
Multiple cities across the country have set curfews for teenagers, making it illegal for teenagers to be on the streets past a given hour. Teenagers are seen breaking the curfew laws in these cities, but many have an adequate excuse as to why they are doing so. I play travel volleyball and my practices go until ten o'clock pm and I do not arrive home until sometimes eleven o'clock pm, this would mean I would be out on the streets illegally if this curfew was set. Setting curfews for teenagers would interfere with after school activities, teen working hours and school assignments. Amongst those is alcohol, which is a choice most teens make even before they are teens. I have actually talked to some people that were drinking at the age of eleven and twelve. Everybody I have met has at one time drunk alcohol before graduation. Police officers sit day and night coming up with ways to extinguish this problem, but no matter how much effort they put forth it will and has continued. People all have different views on the solution to this problem, but before we get to their thoughts and mine, I would like to ask you a question. Would you as a parent or person rather have kids drinking at a house with chaperons where they will be staying all night or driving home drunk because you do not approve of it, and enforce a curfew?
As shown above, curfew laws can play a very critical role in a teenager’s life. It can assist with keeping the city safer, help them get enough sleep, and help them build their personal skill under a well-structured system routine. A lot of people might find curfew laws for teenagers unconstitutional and contradict the first amendment, so they decide not to abide with it. But by doing so, they are placing more a bigger experience to teenagers who are still working on developing their skills to take on new challenges. After all, Teenagers are the future of our society if we don’t teach, coach, direct, and offer guidance their future will be unstable and unproductive and that will affect the entire nation.

DST is the changing of clocks twice a year to increase sunlight in the evening, ostensibly for several reasons. Energy savings are the most frequently cited reason; however, this argument dating back to Ben Franklin has been proven false. Additional reasons DST proponents cite include lower health problems, lower accident rates and lower crime rates.
For starters, curfew keeps children safer than usual. When you have children just roaming the streets, something bad is bound to happen. It’s always that one experimental friend that says “hey guys, let’s go try this”. Well this one statement can lead to a heap of trouble. According to a recent study done, there has been a 97 percent drop of juvenile delinquents (Seith 1). What this means is with curfew incorporated within the community the rate of children going to juvenile centers has significantly decreased.

Many tests and studies have confirmed that curfews do keep teenagers out of trouble. Can parents really keep their teenagers out of trouble or does an imposed curfew only lead to resentment and chaos? Parents think back to when you were a teenager, did you have a curfew? If so, did you follow the rules or break them? Teenagers are no more likely to follow the rules today than they were in the past. It is not likely that creating a curfew for teenagers will cut down on the risk of violence and rule breaking.
Curfew is the time at which you should be back home and safe. Most High Schooler’s will argue that “it’s stupid” and “I won’t get in trouble anyways”. Curfew for High Schooler’s and younger children is an excellent idea because it keeps students in line and out of possible trouble. If curfew was enforced it would eventually help kids be more responsible and trust worthy. Although some might think otherwise, High Schooler's are irresponsible and can not be trusted enough to not have a curfew.
