American business man Jeff Weiner said, “You have to maintain a culture of transformation and stay true to your values.” (Brainy Quote) Music is a direct expression of culture. People’s taste in music will always change over the course in of life. “Honestly, my taste in music has changed as culture,” said my step sister Denise Peggins. (Peggins) This is typically true for most people. Don’t be afraid to be different though and listen to music that popular at the time with the culture. She did not go to concerts growing up simply because she could not afford to go to them. “Anyways back to Coachella, that was a experience of a lifetime!” she said. My dad and step mom got her those tickets for an early birthday present. The one that upset her the most was that she had to miss the last day because her boss wouldn’t let her take the following Monday off, she had to leave that Sunday morning. She still a great experience anyways in those two days. She got to see Outkast, which rocked her world. On day two she MGMT, Pharrell Williams, and Kid Cudi which is an all-time favorite of hers. It was the song “4 Minutes” by Madonna that brought these two together. It was karaoke night function that both of these girls attended. The song title came up on the screen and the M.C. told the crowd that he needed two girls who knew the song to come up and sing. Denise jumped up to the stage and so did Anna, who was a stranger to Denise at the time. Then and there is how the two met over a Madonna song. “Crossing paths with people that share the same music interest is one of the coolest ways to make friends. Some of the best times I have with people are honestly just when we’re chilling, listening to music that we all enjoy. Just like Denise, I have also made friends over music. In high school I went through an odd phrase where I was obsessed with the song Rick Astley’s song, “Never Gonna Give You Up.” I would rick roll people all the time and I even rick rolled my class during one of my presentations. I had some classmates in my class that I really never talked before because we didn’t have any common interests. Once they found out I liked the rick roll song, we all started to bond.
