In the Shakespearean play “Macbeth” the main character Macbeth is a noble soldier of King Duncan’s army, and becomes a coward for his actions of taking the throne of Scotland to himself. Macbeth murdered anybody who stood in his way relying on three witches through the play to keep the throne as long as possible.
Macbeth relied on the witches because he was a coward and afraid of the future after killing Banquo. He demanded the witches told him how to keep the throne of Scotland. The witches then show visions of an armed head, a baby, and a child crowned with a tree in his hand. All the visions tell Macbeth to worry about Macduff. (4.1.31). (3.4) Macbeth was a coward after killing Banquo knowing he had done wrong and at this point in the play was starting to become paranoid. Banquo’s son escapes the murderers and Macbeth feared the prophecy given by the witch that Banquo’s sons will be king. (1.3).
Macbeth also would murder Banquo himself instead he was being a coward in his castle and decided to have somebody do it rather than himself. Macbeth also hired murderers for Macduff and his family (3.3). Macduff escaped and left to find Malcolm. If Macbeth was to do do things himself maybe he would not have to worry about what will happen. Banquo’s son might not have escaped and maybe Macduff could have been killed. Despite all that Macbeth did he was a brave soldier fighting alongside Banquo and was awarded thane of Cawdor after representing his courage, honor, and Bravery. (1.4). King Duncan himself congratulated him and had Macbeth share his stories of battle. Macbeth was not afraid of death and would let nothing stand in his way to absolute power by earning what he was
