Despite of what Troy had put the family through, he later learned to forgive. His

mother, Rose, taught him how to forgive. As Cory begin to work at the A&P since he had

to let the ball game go, then due to his father cheating on his mother with another women

and getting her pregnant, then brings the baby home and asks Rose to help raise his

daughter. Cory then becomes more closer to his mother in comfort and became distance

and mute towards his father, as a result they later began to fight when Cory witness the

argument between his parents and immediately stands up to Troy. In the beginning Cory came to Troy like a son would for love but Troy’s feelings

That right there caused a wall to build up for the same cycle to repeat it self. Troy

does loves his family but as you can see Cory have his niceness to a limit only. Cory then

talks back to Troy asking him, “how come you ain’t never liked me?”(1,3,1166) , he feels

this way by every time him asking his father for a favor or just for anything, Troys actions

are always, why?, it’s always no because he feels like he knows what’s best for him and

the entire family. Cory’s final straw with fearing his father breaks out in the house when Cory tells
