a) Use bias free language. To use bias free language is to remain in the middle ground of an argument. To write bias free means that you write without being for or against something, you give facts and present them without giving your opinion. Some examples are:  You are asked to write a paper about the possible medical outcomes of having a abortion. To write bias free you would have to write the entire paper without putting in your opinion about abortion. b) Pay attention to the connotative meaning of words. Paying attention to the connotative meaning of words means that when writing a paper or any kind of message you have to be careful to use/not use words that have their deffinition along with a different meaning. There are negative and positive connotative meanings and you should always be careful that you are getting the correct meaning across.  Home, home has different meanings along with its deffinition. The deffinition is a place where a faminly resides, but when you say home it usually gives an impression of a warm loving happy place. Or it can also mean an institution for people needing help.  Another connotative word is retarded. Retarded actually means a person with a disability but people use the word to put down others. To avoid cliches and trendy slang means that you do not use words that teenagers in highschool are using, you speak like a perfecional and speak english properly like an adult. Avoiding cliches is important because if you over use cliché sayings it sounds like you cannot speak for your self and are not unique. Some examples:  You are writing an email to someone you work with. You do not start the email by saying Whats up?! You say hello, how are you today?  Two people are applying for the same job and have to write a paper aboutwhy they want the job and think they deserve it. Of one person uses slang and writes like he does not really care and thinks he will be hired anyways and the other person uses profecional language and is respectful it is more likely the respectful, profecin sounding person will receive the job. e) Use plain language for clarity. Using plain language for clarity is important when writing because you do not want to confuse your readers or make them feel like they are not as
