Conflict comes naturally; the clashing of thoughts and ideas is a part of the human experience. It is true that it can be destructive if left uncontrolled. However, it shouldn’t be seen as something that can only cause negative things to transpire. It is a way to come up with more meaningful realizations that can certainly be helpful to the individuals involved. This occurs typically due to how people are different from one another. We have varied personalities which usually results to incompatible choices and opinions. Intragroup conflict is a type of conflict that happens among individuals within a team. The incompatibilities and misunderstandings can lead to an intragroup conflict. It is arises from interpersonal disagreements, whether the team members having different personalities or differences in views, opinions or ideas. Within a team, conflict can be helpful in coming up with decisions which will eventually allow the team to reach their objectives. When there is a question, an explanation should be offered so that the information is understood. Members speaking should respond to questions their teammates may have. One thing to never do is to push a personal agenda on anyone. Regardless of what anyone says; engage them by agreeing or by respectfully disagreeing with what was said and then offering an explanation. Keeping the discussion on task is important. Oftentimes, the task is lost in the shuffle when team members get on a tangent. Someone in the group must be strong enough to bring the group back into focus. Asking viewpoints from others who may be shy or wants to just go with the flow down the road may cause conflict. Especially asking how they feel about certain issues. Encourage them to say how they feel about issues. When offering feedback, be positive. Even something negative can be spoken in a positive manner. When there is a conflict or disagreements, try to find middle ground. Even if it comes down to agreeing to disagree, do what you can to find something
