Have you ever wondered how singers make their voice sound so good? Well that's not always the microphone that does that, but I will explain to you what it does do. The microphone was invented in 1876 by a German born American by the name of Emile Berliner. Over time the microphone has became more and more useful and come in many different shapes and forms, from hearing aids to microphones used a presidential speeches. All the microphones all have one thing in common though and it is that it is a transducer. A transducer is a device that converts one form of energy into another.

On the other hand, we have the condenser microphone which takes two plates that are electrically charged(also known as the capacitor) and vibrates them back and forth. So when a condenser microphone has sound travel through it the diaphragm and the other electrically charged plate vibrate they vibrate back and forth between each other and produce an electric current which then makes its way through the electrical cord and into the speaker and amplifies the sound. So when you talk your sound waves go through the microphone and come out as a electric waves. But underneath the dynamic and condenser microphones become into even more categories. In these categories there is 9 different types, The large diaphragm condenser microphone which is the microphone that is a bit bigger and may be used on youtube channels so that you may be able to hear them better. In dynamic microphones the sound wave produced by your voice passes through a diagram and then vibrates a wire coil that has a magnetic field around it. In a condenser microphone on the other hand has two diaphragms and vibrate back and forth when your sound wave passes through them and the vibration in both microphones produces electrical waves which then can travel through your cord or whatever. One thing is in common on both microphones though and that is that they are transducers and transducers and things or devices that turn one type of wave like in this case which is sound waves into a different wave which would be electric waves. Under the condenser and dynamic microphones there is around 8 more types of microphones that fulfill different jobs for different people.
