Comparing a Cell to a Submarine

Intro- Submarines are a lot like cells in a multitude of ways. Both are organized into many parts and without them both would fall apart. Each has specific parts that do certain jobs. They both also have a way of functionality that depends on whether the other parts inside work or not. Within a cell and a submarine it’s easily seen that both are broken into almost exact structures placing key parts in areas close to each other allowing maximum functionality.

Cell Wall-Shell of Sub.The cell wall is alike to the outer shell of the submarine. The cell wall is a rigid wall found only in plant cells that protects the cell while being unregulated or inactive with allowing things in and out where the cell membrane is active. It is made up of cellulose and protects the cell from implosion during osmosis. The cell wall works with the vacuole to help support the plant. In the submarine the cell wall acts as the outer shell. It protects the cell from outside dangers such as other missiles, radar and ships while allowing supplies or divers to come in. The cell wall and outer shell are similar because they both offer a layer of protection from other elements outside of the cell but they still allow, inactively products to come inside of their walls.

Cell Membrane-Sonar. Sonar on a submarine is the cell membrane in the cell. The cell membrane completely surrounds the cell protecting it’s contents from the surrounding environment. The cell way is a bilayer like sandwich with hydrophilic phosphates on either end surrounding a layer of lipids. Through diffusion and or active transport material comes in and out of the cell. Inside of the membrane pieces of the cell can move around and and change their position relative to the entire cell. ...ries are branched off by the government or divided throughout the country so the production of cells can increase. Depending on the war and the need for submarines more factories are built. Both are key in the division and and growth of there areas. Without centrioles nothing would in ultimate be able to grow as a cell wouldn’t be able to divide and expand whatever form its taking and submarines wouldn’t be produced making fighting a naval based war very difficult.

Concluding-Theres no better way to compare a cell in an analogy than that of a cell to a submarine. Both are a perfect match made in heaven as they are organized in a fashion that is almost identical. I have come to conclusion that Cornelis Jacobszoon Drebbel the creator of the sub based his exact design of that of a cell...even though Robert Hooke wasn’t born until 1635 and the sub was designed in 1620.
