You might say that “The Other Side” and “ Wonder” are different but really there not. They both have over protective mom’s, and have trouble making new friends. In the end they end up making new friends that they can trust. If you think about it both stories share a common theme. In both stories the authors teach us how just because you're different doesn’t mean you make friends In the story of “Wonder” the author shows us that just because you're different doesn't mean you can’t be friends. In the beginning of the story Auggie wants to try going to school he doesn’t know how it’s going to turn out through because of his face, Auggie was born with a deformed face and needed lots of surgeries he’s better now but still scary looking. This story took place around the 1940’s were black and white people couldn’t share anything or be friends, they had to be separated. I the story a little black girl lived in a small yellow house and on the side of her house was an old white fence her mother always say “Don’t climb over that fence when you play” she always said it wasn’t safe. Cover new about white and black people and she new that there was white people on that side of the fence. Clover always wonder about that other girl on the other side all Clover new was that she was white and always wore a pink sweater. In the end Clover went over to that fence were the white girl was. They talked a while and soon became best friends. In both of these stories the author teaches us that even though you're different doesn’t mean you can have friends. From “Wonder” you can see how mean and rude some people are but you can also learn how nice people are that’s what the protagonist also learned. We learn from “The Other Side” that all of the plot’s in this story revolved around the white girl and the fence. Both Auggie and Clover learned that even though they're different doesn’t me they can’t make
