U.S. government is full of many political parties, there are the main two; Democratic and republican. With many third parties who campaign like the main two. Out of the list of choices of choosing a third party to research I chose The Prohibition Party. I choose this party because this party encourages me to feel different and challenged. Meaning the party shows me their views and I compare them to mine. The Prohibition Party is an active party today and has been since 1869. The purpose for the creation of the Prohibition Part was to prohibit the use of alcoholic beverages in the country. Also Marie C. Brehm a Vice Presidential candidate in 1924, as a running candidate, she was the first unambiguously legally qualified woman ever to be nominated for this position. Also involved in the Prohibition Party was Rachel Bubar Kelly also a Vice Presidential candidate in 1996.
The party has not won a political office and also has not had a party candidate become a senator or a representative. None of the parties political issues have been adopted into another party's platform.
Two issues I believe all parties should make their main focuses are teen pregnancies and marriage restrictions. The Prohibitions stance on marriage is; the support of traditional marriage of one adult male to one adult female. And views on teen pregnancy is; they support efforts to protect all humans during all stages of their existence. As they oppose abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, assisted suicide, and all other practices which threaten to destroy our weak and vulnerable fellow humans.
