Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright. Many of his plays involve love between characters. Examples of these plays are A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet. There are many different things that Shakespeare says about love in his text. In some of his plays he leads you to think that love ends in tragedy. This is shown in plays such as, Romeo and Juliet. Personally, I think that Shakespeare is telling us that people often find love in the physical beauty of someone. He shows us this in plays such as, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet through the love juice, Bottom and Titania’s unusual love for each other, and Romeo and Juliet’s love at first sight.
In A Midsummer Night’s Dream, many characters fall in love with each other through a love juice that is poured in one’s eye. When someone gets this love potion dropped into their eye, they will immediately fall in love with the first …show more content…

They don’t even acknowledge the internal characteristics of each other. They both know that they’re from rival families who are always fighting with each other, so they both know they should not be in love with one another. Their physical beauty blinded them from the real world. In the play, when Romeo first sees Juliet he says “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright…Beauty too rich for use, for Earth too dear…Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight.” This quote tells us that Romeo has fallen in love with Juliet because of her beauty. This is another example of how Shakespeare is telling that people fall in love based on beauty.
In conclusion, Shakespeare has brought this world many interesting and famous plays. Many of these plays are about love and how people experience them. People have many different opinions on what Shakespeare is saying about love in his text. In my opinion, he is telling us that people will find love based on physical beauty rather than inner
