College is something that many high school students anticipate; A new transition between two very similar yet diverse worlds. This transition can be something very exciting but also very nerve raking and difficult. Students, Ready to leave behind high school, being researching to find the most prestigious schools and programs available, soon forgetting to remember that although the two, high school and college have their similarities such as doing classwork, and homework the differences are endless. To begin, the most obvious difference between high school and college is that high school is free while students have to pay for college. During high school years the only things that requires money would be school supplies and things wanted by students. High school students have free access to learning and textbooks and that’s different for college students. College requires payment to attend classes and to use text books new or used. During high school social events like pep rallies, prom and homecoming are held to allow students to interact with peers and just enjoy themselves during their high school career. The same is with college, there are social events all throughout semesters to allow students to engage in activities and participate around campus while meeting new people. In high school and college both social activities are important because it allows all students to interact and get involved especially first-year students. To add, another similarity between high school and college is graduation requirements. Although in high school a prescribed list of class is given to all students it is pretty similar in college.
