For anyone growing up in any religious family, the first story that one was taught was the story of how God created everything in seven days. The bible consist of historical accounts that have changed though time. Many variations of these stories have been expressed. Everyone in the world is different and therefore the way that each person interprets a story can be different as well. When addressing the story of Adam and Eve there are many fundamental issues that can be discusses depending on how each character is analyzed. Through the passing of time, interpretation of stories have changed and therefore the original purpose of the character have been altered as well. Even in today’s you can still see many comparisons being made between women and serpents due to this story. The popular image of Eve has a few similarities and differences when compared to the text’s depiction of Eve in Genesis 2-3. In the first book of the Old Testament, Genesis, it talks about the creation story and after God had finished creating heaven and earth and everything on it such as the animals, trees and water go decided to create something else. God decided to create man. The man was created in Gods likeness and splendor and he named him Adam. God did not want Adam to be lonely and therefore he took on rib for the side of Adam and covered it with flash and he made the rib into a woman and brought her to Adam. God called her Eve (Gen 2:21-22).After God created Adam and Eve he provided them with everything they would need to survive and only asked one thing of them in return. Women have always had to work harder and have had to overcome more obstacles to get to the same place a man would be in. Even in the creation story it is obvious that women are inferior to men by the way Eve was created. God had to take a rib from Adam (a man) to create Eve (a woman.) This makes it seem like women come second to men. This notion started as early as in the bible and has moved through the generations and is still an issue in the world today. It is true that no matter how hard women fight for the same rights as men that there will always be a separation between the genders. Due to this separation there is a sense of inferiority put on the image of women everywhere. This started because after reading this story many people could interpret it as that women are weaker than men and have less self-control because the serpent did not tempt Adam, he went directly to Eve as if he already knew should would have been the easier target to tempt. The idea of Eve being depicted as a seductress comes from her being disobedient and eating the forbidden fruit, and being thrown out and being condemned for all eternity. The core of the Adam and Eve story that keeps it being told is due to the first sign of temptation and disobedience causing the first act of sin ever seen in the Bible. Eve is seen as the seductress because she was the one who persuaded Adam to take a bite of the fruit even though
