The Outsiders is a very good book written by S.E. Hinton, fact she was only 15 when she started writing. They made a movie about it to. The movie and book have many differences and similarities, they evan have there original names from the book in the movie.
Similarities of “The Outsiders” from the book and movie was, introduced with the same names Ponyboy, Johnny, Darry, Dally, Soda Pop, Two Bit, and Steve. In the film and novel, Ponyboy was telling Cherry that Soda’s and his name was real and it was evan on there birth certificate. They also had the same name for the gangs Greasers and socs, in the story and movie they had a rumble. In the “The Outsiders” the book and move had two illution “Gone With The Wind” and “Nothing Gold Can Stay,” in the film we can remeber Ponyboy telling Johnny the poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” and we can remeber Ponyboy reading to Johnny “Gone With The Wind” after he went to the store to buy food from the store. In the movie the soc’s were from the south and greasers were from the north, in the book the soc’s east and the greasers are from the west. When Ponyboy and Johnny went to find dally to get help they were seen to get him at a bar, they were read to find dally at a house. After Johnny died darry went to steal things at the store and in the book he did not get shot at like it did in the film. At the end of the movie dally pulled a gun out at the cops and dally got shot, and they did not show Ponyboy passing out like we read in the book.Ponyboys parents were seen dead from a train and car collition, and in the book it was just a regular car reck. After Johnny and Dally died Ponyboy stayed out of school for about 4 weeks, in the film it doesen’t evan show him getting
