The leader of the Aztecs was Montezuma the second.Their government was similar to a Monarchy.They called the leader at the time a Huey Tlatoani. The Aztec Indians had many enemies, their enemies were, Texlacans, Huaxtec, purempecha, mayans, and spanish conquistadors. They had so many enemies because they were all fighting for the same territory. They were around from 1428 to 1521.
Economic
The Aztecs traded a lot. It was an important part of life for them.They traded gold, copper, and jade primarily. They traded with the south region which is now Guatemala, Belize, and Honduras.
Geographic
The Aztecs use a system of farming called chinampa. This used small, rectangular areas to grow crops on the shallow lake beds in the Mexican valley. A chinampa was pretty much a manmade island for the crops that were being grown. The aztecs also practiced terracing. Terracing was building walls around hillsides, and filling it in so you can have deeper soil even if you’re not on flat land. They even made an extensive alphabet using pictures containing several hundred symbols depicting their vocabulary. In their culture art, music, dance, and religion are all parts of their everyday lives. All of this was taken very seriously and greatly intertwined in their many religious and ceremonial rituals.

The Aztec empire was a Monarchy. Our democracy is a limited government while the Aztec Empire was an unlimited government and the leaders had full control. In our democracy the people have a say of what can and can’t happen. Their monarchy has the people’s freedoms decided by their ruler.
