Mac vs. Microsoft Microsoft and Apple are two of the world’s main competitors in the computer industry. There has always been much debate over which system is better; Apple or Microsoft. This all depends on what the person is using the computer for. Both Microsoft and Apple can be used for personal, commercial or corporate use. It is a well-known fact that Microsoft is the most marketed operating system. Microsoft designs and sells its operating systems to other computer manufacturers. This makes Microsoft compatible with other hardware. Apple chose to not do this; Apple makes its operating system only compatible with its own computer hardware (Derene).

Apple systems are not as popular as Microsoft so there are fewer malware written to target Apple. Microsoft system are so popular that most virus writers target them. It is a requirement to have anti-virus software installed on a Microsoft system. Apple also has a built in program called Boot Camp; this program lets you install Windows. You can even divide space on your hardware so you’ll have both operating systems on the same computer. Apple is not compatible on a Windows system.
Graphics is another greatly debated component between these two systems. Apple’s graphics are rendered and processed better than Microsoft. The fact that Apple computers have more processors, more memory, and a better graphic card makes it the better graphic processor. Apple has a greater attraction to graphic designers, video and music producers, tech journalist, and app developers.
The various similarities and differences of Microsoft and Apple are clear. They both possess favorable traits that make them the two top competitors in the computer industry. Apple is favored because of its use-friendly interface, artistic software and it’s beautifully constructed design. Windows is favored over its affordability, compatibility; because of its versatility it is used by the majority of the computer -using population.
