Thousands of centuries ago, there was only the vast blue ocean that spread across the Earth. The only things that existed were the animals in the ocean, and the Gods above the clouds. The world above the cloud was like a living heaven with enormous castles, schools, and pretty much anything you can think of. There were two particular Gods that were main focuses throughout the world. Those Gods were Ka’uaha’aha’a and Pepehiwaiwai. Ka’uaha’aha’a was the god of rain and he was a very humble man. He had a very scary looking face but in actuality he was very kind, and caring. His daughter Aomakani was the goddess of the clouds and wind, and she was known for her beauty and kindness. On the complete opposite, Pepehiwaiwai was a rich god of murder …show more content…
and, he was very cocky about it. To show his riches and ability, he tried to show off his conquests by having piles of dead bodies from the innocent people he killed, scattered across the ocean. His daughter Haulaka, was the goddess of snow and hula, and she was known for her brattiness. Hualaka was always jealous of Aomakani’s beauty, and she wanted Aomakani’s flawlessness. One day Haulaka’s jealousy took over and she asks her father to kidnap and kill Ka’uaha’aha’a’s daughter, Aomakani.

greedily. “Okay, no problem. I will try and demolish her by next week.” her father said happily. That night and until the next morning, Pepehiwaiwai was planning his horrendous plan to wipe out Aomakani. A bright idea came to his mind and he thought of a plan that he was positive he won’t get caught with. His plan was to throw a party, invite hundreds of people, and play a game that requires to turn off all the lights. While the lights are off, they will take Aomakani and will store her somewhere far away so that they can deal with her later. Pepehiwaiwai gave an invitation to Ka’uaha’ha’a and Aomakani for the party. Aomakani was suspicious because she knew that Haulaka did not like her, so she wondered why she had invited her. “I feel that that family is planning something evil.” she said worriedly. “We should stay close.” Ka’uaha’aha’a agreed. Ka’uaha’ha’a and Aomakani arrived at the party and when they got there, they were surprised to see what was before them. They saw millions of people in a room that spread thousands of miles across. Their stomach growled as they saw food laid across the huge table, and it almost seemed as if they were drooling. They each grabbed a plate and grabbed some food, as they gobbled it down. After they were full, they made their way to the games section and to meet and greet their friends. After a while, Pepehiwaiwai announced that they were going to start a game that requires a partner. Haulaka came running towards Aomakani and asked her to be her partner. "Do you want to be my partner?" asked Haulaka nicely as possible. "Sure I'd love to." Aomakani answered, being the nice person she is. Pepehiwaiwai started to explain how to play the game. "Okay so when you find a partner, go to an open part of the room away from your partner. From there, you have to find your partner. The twist is, the lights are going off and you are only aloud to tell whether that person is your partner by them giving clues on who they are." The lights turned off, and that was the start of the horrendous plan. After a couple of minutes, when Aomakani was all alone, Pepehiwaiwai started to choke Aomakani until she was unconscious and dragged her into a shed. "The job is done. Another addition to my collection." Pepehiwaiwai said feeling accomplished. The second he said that, he heard something that sounded like a heavy landing right behind him. BOOM! It was Ka'uaha'aha'a that landed and he was ready to fight Pepehiwaiwai, but first he had to save his daughter. In the split second Pepehiwaiwai looked away, Ka'uaha'aha'a ran around Pepehiwaiwai and saved Aomakani. "Run, Run as fast as you can to the castle!" said Ka'uaha'aha'a. Aomakani ran and ran until she was safe and sound. Pepehiwaiwai was super confused about how Ka'uaha'aha'a had found him, and how he knew where he was going to hide Aomakani.
That was when he realized he had made a mistake. A huge mistake. He forgot that Ka'uaha'aha'a and Aomakani was given a power to communicate with their minds when he killed Aomakani's mother.. They were given that power from their mother because she wanted her family to be safe, and so they can save each other at times like this. This was huge news throughout the gods and goddesses. Apparently, Aomakani woke up while she was being moved to the shed, but never said a word. She told her father where she was, and how to get there. Ka'uaha'aha'a followed exactly what Aomakani said, and sneaked up behind Pepehiwaiwai.
Pepehiwaiwai and Ka'uaha'aha'a took out there swords and the battle had begun. Pepehiwaiwai's sword was rough and jagged but, Ka'uaha'aha'a had a beautiful silver sword. As Pepehiwaiwai aggressively tried to attack Ka'uaha'aha, Ka'uaha'aha blocked it and defended himself. The fight took place in places all around the planet, but it eventually stopped at one of Pepehiwaiwai's piles of dead
bodies. All of sudden, BAM Pepehiwaiwai tripped on one of the bodies and fell on his back. Ka'uaha'aha'a thought this was the perfect chance to defeat Pepehiwaiwai. He put all his strength into this one hit, aimed for Pepehiwaiwai's neck, and closed this eyes. SLING, when he opened his eyes, he saw the body of Pepehiwaiwai with a sliced open neck. Ka'uaha'aha'a noticed he was looking over a large triangular looking figure. From that triangular figure, there was red liquid running down from the opening at the top. "What is this?" Ka'uaha'aha'a questioned. It was then he realized, that the dead bodies had turned into a mountain, and the red liquid which was blood flowing down from Pepehiwaiwai's neck, became the lava. This was the creation of the "volcano." As soon as this happened, all the other piles of dead bodies became volcanos too. The spirit of Pepehiwaiwai never disappeared but after the volcano was created, Ka'uaha'aha'a put a spell on Pepehiwaiwai. When Ka'uaha'aha'a put this spell on Pepehiwaiwai, Pepehiwaiwai's personality changed and instead of being greedy and cocky, he became kind and thoughtful of others. That spell was that each and every volcano would have a piece of Pepehiwaiwai's spirit and every time there was murder, little parts of the volcano would start to cause a great eruption.
The myths which prove the contradictory behavior of the gods, acting as both benefactors and tormentors of man, can readily be explained when viewed in light of the prime directive for man, to worship the gods and not “overstep,” and the ensuing “Deus ex Mahina” which served to coerce man to fulfill his destiny as evidenced by the myths: “Pandora,” “Arachne, and “Odysseus.” Humankind and it’s range of vision over the gods beauty and power portrayed them to be benefactors but unseemingly it depicted their affliction towards humans.
According to Aztec legend, the first world was created by a dual god- meaning that it was both a female and male- called Ometeotl. The Aztec pantheon included hundreds of gods, all who originated from Ometeotl himself. The Aztecs also believed that the gods represented forces of nature, such as rain, and also human characteristics (Benson 504). Prior to the current world the Aztecs believed that there were four other worlds, all which ended with a major catastrophe. After the end of the fourth world all the gods gathered at the Aztec’s main city, or Teotihuacán, to discuss the creation of the fifth world. They chose two gods: a wealthy, healthy one and a poor, sickly one that would both jump into the sacrificial fire. When they were sacrificed the first sunrise of t...
Across all ancient societies, regardless of time, location, or technological advancements, there remains a presiding unifying factor; religion. Such mythological figures throughout the time frames share similar parallel concepts and ideologies through different forms. A prime example of this phenomenon would be the gods Adad, Summanus, and Perendi- the gods of storm.
The quotation above shows that even how prosperous a man is he never been called a real man if he didn’t threatened his women and his children in a good ways. In Chapter 7 Okonkwo feels to the boy that have given him by the Umuofia named Ikemefuna as well as for his son. Instead of that I am very upset of what Okonkwo do to Ikemefuna. When the time that Okonkwo seek to tells Ikemefuna that they are going to Mbaino. Ikemefuna doesn’t believe of what Okonkwo tells him.I am very happy when Ikemefuna can go home to Mbaino. But when I really know the truth that it is just only a lies my heart cut into pieces. They did not notice that Nwoye hear what they are talking that Ikemefuna was leaving he feel burst into tears
People of the ancient world often had questions about their existence and how life and people came to be on earth. Most ancient people answered these questions through religion. The Sumerians were the first important group of people to inhabit Mesopotamia and they were known to practice a form of worship called polytheism, which is the worship of several gods. Mesopotamians associated different gods with natural events, emotions, and other occurrences. Their main deities included An (the god of the heavens), Enlil (Lord Storm), Enki (god of wisdom), and Nihursaga (the mother of all living things)(p.22). The Mesopotamians believed that the gods controlled all of the events and occurrences in life. An ancient text called “Creation of Man by the Mother Goddess” (p.34) helps us understand how the M...

The two warriors stood ten feet from each other, both anticipating each other to strike. Akuma glared down at Ryokosha as if he was an insect. Ryokosha could not see the sun casting down on them anymore due to the enormous size of the demon. Sweat dripped down from Rohan’s face and onto his blue robe. CLANG! Both parties attacked with their blades, and the violent duel began. Loudly, each blade hit the other blade, grinding against each other like teeth.
Once upon a time there were four gods. The gods were very wise and powerful. The names of these gods were Waterfall, Iceman, Asguard, and Diablo. Waterfall was the god of water and his brother, Iceman, was the god of ice. His friend Asguard was the god of acid, but the most evil god of all was Diablo . . . ha, ha, ha.
The world we see is not always how it was with its vast blue oceans and mountains that tower over cities several times over. In ancient times, the earth was merely a giant sphere of rock, similar to the planets surrounding it. There was only one who existed in the universe known as Gaia and through the offspring of his thought created gods that served him since the beginning. Gaia created these servants for one sole purpose: to create a world suitable for Gaia’s species known as humans. At first, the mighty gods Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune argued why they should do as told when they had power to create and destroy many things, but had to make a world for humans which seemed like ants to them.
They believed that the earth was the last in a series of creations and was positioned between systems of 13 heavens and 9 underworlds. Their gods were Tezcatlipoca; the first god to be a sun and The god of the night, Tlaloc; god of rain, Chalchiuhtlicue; the sun goddess and Tlaloc's sister, Huitzilopochtli; god of war, and Quetzalcoatl; creator of the humans. All of the gods created the universe together but it took earth the longest to create due to a conflict between the
Hundreds of years ago people did not have the technology to explain different forces of nature. They created gods, each with separate powers, to rule their domains. Some of the gods were merciful, some were wicked, and others were merely servants of more powerful gods. Looking at the gods, it is easy to tell what the civilization most valued. I am going to look at the Greek and the Norse gods to compare what was most important to their societies.
Tourist from many different countries, towns, and cities came to hawaii to explore; unfortunately hawaii just suffered from a major flood. Two greek gods came to tour the little state of hawaii. Hephaestus and Zeus. Hephaestus is the greek god of blacksmiths, craftsmen, and sculptors.
News comes that the village has decided to murder Ikemefuna as punishment for the earlier murder of the young girl. Ezedu, advises Okonkwo to not take part in Ikemefuna’s murder because he considers him his father. Okonkwo decides to tell Ikemefuna that he is returning to his village and a group of men gather to “accompany him home (Achebe 41).” Then Okonkwo had an opportunity to hide the boy or defend his son but he acts as a coward instead. When the men are killing him, Ikemefuna cries out to Okonkwo but instead of rescuing him, Okonkwo delivers the fatal blow (Achebe 44). Here he fears being thought of as weak so
After the first man Kumuhona, mankind displeased the gods. One righteous man, Nu-u, built a canoe with a house, and stored away provisions. Water covered the earth and Nu-u and his family were spared. After the flood was over, Nu-u looked to the moon and worshiped it, thinking it was Kane (a great god). Kane was displeased with Nu-u, but put a rainbow in the sky to show a sign of forgiveness.
Okonkwo is sent to the neighboring tribe as war emissary to retrieve the persons of the peace agreement. He returns with a virgin girl to replace the woman whom was murdered and a young boy named Ikemefuna--the son of one of the men who murdered the young woman--who Okonkwo adopts. For three years, Okonkwo comes to love Ikemefuna as his own son even to the point of neglecting his natural born son Nwoye. But the tribe has decided that the boy must die. When the men of the tribe take Ikemefuna into the forest to kill him, Okonkwo participates in the murder by cutting him despite the elders speaking against such
