Living in a dystopian society, the characteristics verge from bring a restriction on creativity, anti-government, and hyper obedience. As for analyzing Harrison Bergeron, and Anthem these two novels were different but have similar traits. Both novels lack the chance of becoming yourself. The main characters, Equality 7-2521, and Harrison Bergeron rebellious trait, not only challenges themselves but the government. Having the government believing in equivalency, the main character tries to reconstruct a world of freedom. Harrison Bergeron and Anthem not only ends in bad circumstances but there can be resembling climaxes and distinctive outcomes due the main character view in life. This particular dystopian society has no advancement in technology. As for an individual, they are given names at birth and jobs based on test scores and personality at the age of 17. The main character Equality 7-2521 is the dystopian hero who discover electricity. As for this society, the word “I” and “mine” aren’t used due wanting the society being the united. Equality 7-2521 was not unique but he was very smart. For the Equality 7-2521 discovering the internet, he believes showing the authoritarian government will create a change. The change would create individuality to allow the society to progress. For the government declines his presentation, but Equality 7-2521 overlook the situation and runs to the forest. With the society not wanting a change would cause people to have miserable lives and eventually a decreasing in the civilization. Having Equality 7-2521 struggle becoming equal with his associates. “It is not good to be different from our brothers, but it evil to be superior to them.” (21) Equality 7-2521 could not live in this situation because he knew of what he was capable of. This caused Equality 7-2521 to run off into the forbidden forest, which is where he met Liberty. Liberty eventually becomes his lover due to loving his need charaterics.
