The African American Movement was similar to the Women’s Right Movement but it

still had some differences. The goal of Women’s Right Movement was only protect women’s

right and appeal to women had same rights as men. In 1963, Betty Friedan wrote a book which is

“The Feminine Mystique” to represent heartfelt wishes of many women at that time and it

reminded women get and assume more additional rights and responsibilities. This book followed

feminism’s idea which is equal right for women. It was the beginning of the movement. In the

same year, congress passed the Equal Pay Act that required that women could have same quality

and quantity jobs as men. The Civil Right Act of 1964 also protected women from

discrimination. After
