This is one of the most important movies in the history of Mexican cinema. It may not be one of the best movies ever made in this country, but defetly it became a catapult of the movies made in mexico in the new century. It became the watershed of the movies that came. The audiences from the aztec country start believing in the new productions made in the country and this movie was the end of the new industry that has lost the support form its main audience. The process was long and started with movies like "Como Agua para Chocolate" almost a decade prior to the release. Three interconnected stories about the different strata of life in Mexico City all resolve with a fatal car accident. Octavio is trying to raise enough money to run away with his sister-in-law, and decides to enter his dog Cofi into the world of dogfighting. There were a series of events not explain in the movie that made his life change. Echevarría does a great work in the movie making the most heart warming tale of the three stories.

Probably the less fortunate story in the movie is the one that Goya Toledo (Valeria). this is the story about a model frustrated with his life as she is unable to continue with her career. The story is also less develop than the other two in which there is not really a true end to what it is the point of including Valeria's plot in this movie. Toledo does a good job with what is left from her participation in the movie. I don't know if when the movie was cut down from it original intention the outcome was
