At one point and time in history America had attempts to contain any Soviet expansion around the world. One of the biggest moments in history known as the cold war was a very big then to control communism and fight their ideas from spreading. Throughout the United States trying to keep communism at a low was difficult because it could cause controversy within the country and it could have started World War III if it had gotten too out of hand. The Soviet Union was their new biggest threat.
The United States did not only try strategies to keep communism out of the country but also other countries. We made an alliance with European countries which we call NATO which consists of Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal …show more content…

Europe is the main one that we helped fight against becoming communism because West Berlin was at a very vulnerable place in that time and supplies were limited in their country but the United States was there to provide them any supplies needed, food, and fuel all from the Berlin Airlift. Another reason as to why Europe was top in saving them from communism is that we created NATO in 1948 the alliance with European countries known as Belgium, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal and Turkey. Latin America was another country that the United States helped fight going to communism. The reason why Latin America did not go communist is because the United States had attempted to helped overthrow the government in Latin America but in a friendly manner with a known United States of America friendly leader and they eventually succeeded. One of the one other main countries that we had helped fight going into communism is the Middle East because we successfully overthrew or kept leaders that were friendly as to the United States of
